
At 19:00 am, April 22, in the frame of NATO days, Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is visiting Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University to meet the representatives of the self-government of the Ajara Region, the University professors and the teaching staff, the students as well as the representatives of the civil sector and media.
The meeting will be held in the frame of NATO days with the aim to raise awareness on the cooperation between the North Atlantic Alliance, Georgia and NATO, the related prospects and challenges. In the context of the current anti-western conditions the dialogue with the society, on integration of Georgia in NATO. is particularly important. Relevantly, the meeting will be dedicated to the discussion of the importance of the Euro integration of Georgia and the process bound current achievements and challenges.
NATO days is one of the important projects dedicated to the intensive dialogue with the society on the issue related to Georgia’s integration in NATO. The dialogue is held in Tbilisi as well as other 8 regions of Georgia (Ajara, Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Samegrelo, Imereti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kvemo Kartli). This year the 11th anniversary of the NATO days is being celebrated; the event will last from the 16th of April till the 1st of May.
The event organization is ensured by the information centre of the European Union; it is supported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and held through the cooperation with the NATO allied office in Georgia and the Embassy of Bulgaria (Embassy of contact of NATO) in Georgia
