Andreas Hilger, head of the Max Weber Foundation of Georgia visits the BSU

Andreas Hilger, head of the Max Weber Foundation in Georgia, and Davit Jishkariani, manager of the foundation, visited Shota Rustveli State University in Batumi. Andreas Hilger spoke about the existing relations between Georgia and Germany and directions of future cooperation at the meeting with BSU rector, Professor Merab Khalvashi. BSU rector Merab Khalvashi introduced the guests to the scientific and educational programs implemented and ongoing at the university with the support of Germany. According to the agreement of the parties, it was planned to implement joint projects, develop exchange programs and sign a memorandum of cooperation.

Within the framework of the visit, the members of the delegation met the dean of the Faculty of Humanities of BSU, associate professor Teona Beridze, professors and researchers and presented research projects of the Max Weber Foundation.

The Max Weber Foundation is one of the largest scientific and research organizations of the Federal Republic of Germany and unites eleven autonomous institutes in different countries of the world. The foundation supports research in the humanities and social sciences both in Germany and abroad.

The Georgia office of the Max Weber Foundation is part of the foundation's Eastern Europe and Eurasia network, which studies the historical connections of these regions in an international and transnational context. The Georgia office promotes and coordinates joint research projects in a global context, from antiquity to modern history.
