On 15 - 16 October 2026, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will host the 2nd International Conference “New Horizons: Strengthening Regional Cooperation Across the Eastern Partnership, South Caucasus & Central Asia.”
The conference aims to strengthen academic and professional cooperation among the countries of the Eastern Partnership, South Caucasus and Central Asia, facilitate the exchange of research findings and practical experience, address shared regional challenges, and foster new international partnerships.
“New Horizons” brings together researchers, academics, experts, public-sector representatives, policy practitioners, and young professionals from different countries, providing an international platform for interdisciplinary discussion of contemporary issues of particular importance to the wider region.
The key thematic areas of the 2026 conference include:
1. Public Governance, Engagement and Public Services;
2. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Governance;
3. Green Transition and Sustainable Development;
4. Regional Security, the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea;
5. Youth Engagement in Public Policy;
6. Migration, Identity and Culture.
The conference will also welcome, as special guests, representatives from various professional and academic fields from Spain, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States, who will contribute to thematic sessions and discussions alongside conference participants.
Call for Abstracts
Prospective participants are invited to submit an abstract as in Georgian and as in English of no more than one page. The abstract should clearly outline the research topic, its main objective, central argument, and key or expected findings.
Deadline for abstract submission: 15 September 2026.

The working languages of the conference are Georgian and English.
Following the conference, final articles based on the papers presented will be published by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
