A Japanese Culture Festival was held in front of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The event was organized by BSU lecturer and Japanologist Lasha Bolkvadze and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The festival aimed to deepen cultural relations between Georgia and Japan, promote intercultural dialogue, and introduce Japanese culture and traditions to the public.
A diverse cultural program was presented within the framework of the event, which combined Georgian and Japanese musical and choreographic performances, a demonstration of Shodo (Japanese calligraphy), an aikido demonstration, anime character performances, Japanese songs, as well as a concert with the participation of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University band and other creative groups.
The festival guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the diversity of Japanese culture. Spaces for traditional art, music, dance, martial arts, calligraphy and Japanese cuisine were organized, creative workshops and exhibitions were held, in which specialists and volunteers invited from Japan, as well as local youth and creative groups participated.
The event was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Ishizuka Hideki, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Ajara Autonomous Republic Tsotne Ananidze, the academic and administrative staff of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, students and invited guests.
