Addictology Conference Held at BSU

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the final conference of the Addictology Development Project ADDIGE / TEMPUS. BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, Ajara A/R Minister of Health Care and Social Affairs Zaal Mikeladze, Vice Rector Natia Tsiklashvili and Vice Rector Tamar Siradze, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Marina Koridze attended the conference.

 The Project facilitates the development of the new undergraduate and graduate programs and their successful implementation. BSU and GIPA developed a joint Master’s curriculum which is awaiting accreditation.

 Georgia has pioneered in the Eastern Europe in the development of the Addictology (science of addition) curricula for the high education and the modern lifelong learning system, which can increase Georgia’s chances to combat drug addiction.  

ADDIGE (http://www.addige.eu/) project is funded by the European Commission's TEMPUS program, which supports the modernization of higher education curricula in the partner countries of Eastern Europe, within the collaboration projects among the universities.  

The concluding conference summed up the project activities and presented the outcomes to the public and the delegates from the partner universities, experts from the Chech Republic, Germany and Poland.
