
The international Doctoral school in digital humanities started the first selection round at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The international Project is implemented jointly with the Goethe University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The project aims to introduce the innovative research methodology and training of the young scientists, which will contribute to the development of the digital humanities in Georgia.
The kick-off of the project is sponsored by the German Foundation Volkswagen Stiftung and plans theoretical and practical training of the selected candidates. The selection process for the candidates for the digital humanities" doctoral program will take place in Georgia and Germany.
The new international PhD program will be open to any student, who have graduated from the Georgian high educational institutions or will have graduated by 1 September 2017 in the following directions: philology linguistics, literary studies, lexicography, history, Ancient Source studies, archeology, ethnology, cultural heritage studies, social science, sociology, psychology, law, political science with a focus on the region.
The candidates will undergo the first round of competition at the international workshops, which is organized within the framework of the project and held at BSU and TSU (in Georgian). The selected candidates will continue with the second round in Germany, at Frankfurt University (in English). The first round of the competition will select 25 candidates.
