Iran Islamic Republic Acting Consul General in Georgia Ahmad Badpa visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The meeting with Professor Merab Khalvashi, Rector of the University was of an introductory nature aiming at defining the directions of future cooperation. Implementation of the exchange programmes and mutual study-research projects have also been planned. The parties clam that the collaboration will contribute in terms of deepening the existing connection between two countries.

Head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg (Austria) and Coordinator of ERASMUS+Exchange programme Dr. Franz Kok visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The representative of the ERASMUS+ met the BSU ERASMUS+Exchange programme Coordinator Nana Kurshubadze, Associate professor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Irakli Gorgiladze, Assistant Professor Lasha Bazhunaishvili, ERASMUS+Exhange Grant Holders and the students of the mentioned faculty. Dr. Fran Kok introduced the BA and Joint MA Educational Programmes of the University of Salzburg and the University life to the hosting party. Moreover, it was agreed to cooperate further in the frame of the ERASMUS+Project together with other European Universities.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria arranged the Ethnographic Exhibition at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria to Georgia Desislava Ivanova announced the event open and introduced the results of chairmanship of the Council of the European Union of the Bulgarian Republic to the society. 25 photos illustrating Bulgarian National Clothes and fire rites, by Aleksandr Mikhailov, were displayed at the Ethnographic Exhibition. The exposition is displaying the life and traditions of Bulgarian people.

Consul General of the Republic of Turkey Makbule Kochak met Professor Merab Khalvashi, Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Professor Marine Giorgadze, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of BSU. Representatives of the University as well as the Diplomatic Corps talked about the jointly implemented activities and discussed the prospects of future cooperation. Moreover, it was planned to carry our new projects together with the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care. Following the agreement of the parties Fatma Seren Yazgan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia and Makbule Kochak, Consul General will deliver a public lecture for the students and share their experience in diplomacy.

On the basis of the Faculty of Technologies of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University “Centre of Innovation” has been opened in the frame of Erasmus+ grant project - „INNOCENS“ (Enhancing Innovation Competences and Entrepreneurial Skills in Engineering Education). The objective of the Centre is the establishment of modern Entrepreneurship approaches, development of innovative competences and startups and spin offs. The Centre of Innovation was opened by Mr. Israel Griol Bares, Business Manager, Professor at Polytechnic University of Valencia, together with the professors and the teachers of the Centre of Innovation. In the frame of the project the trainers from BSU have been taking training courses in 7 different countries for the last year. As a follow up they will share the European experience with other colleagues in the process of education.
