On March 10-11, a meeting of partners and a workshop for researchers under the framework of the MACRO CLEAN (BSB00584) project “Research, Cleaning Methodologies, Economic Valorization and Pilot Application for Macroalgal Blooms” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University
Within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Institutional Development International Grant Project - "Fostering Creative Engineering for a Sustainable Green World" (GreenEngine -ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE-STRAND-2, Project Number: 101236240), a coordination meeting, working sessions, and thematic workshops were held from March 9 to 11, 2026, at the University of L`Aquila, Italy
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Ishizuka Hideki. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the importance of Georgian-Japanese relations in the field of education and science. They discussed the existing relations with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Tokyo Metropolitan University of Technology, as well as plans for future cooperation with other Japanese universities.
On 19–20 February, the Final Conference of the Erasmus+ grant project “Promoting professional education and students’ engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system at HEIs (Proment)” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The aim of the conference was to present the results of the PROMENT project to the wider public, to discuss the prospects for further development and sustainability of the tutoring and mentoring programme implemented at BSU within the framework of the project, and to share the experience gained with higher education institutions operating in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
On December 11, the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Tite Aroshidze, together with members of the delegation, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Japan, Teimuraz Lezhava, in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, as part of a working visit.
