Italian Ambassador to Georgia H.E. Antonio Enrico Bartoli visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and met the students who study international relations. H.E. Italian Ambassador to Georgia spoke about the cultural, educational and political relations between the two countries and discussed future prospects.
Professor Sergei Maskevich, Director of the Belarusian International Institute of Ecology named after A. Sakharov visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The two higher educational institutions agreed to cooperate on the priority issues such as protection of ecology and natural resources. The parties expressed interest to engage ministries of natural resources in both countries and launch jointly summer schools, as well as to implement joint educational programs and projects within the Memorandum of Understanding.
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University’s Faculty of Tourism sends 78 students to Germany’s high-class hotels from 10 June to 10 October in 2 stages. The 2 months internship for the students means learning of the theory and acquiring practical skills in the hotels. They will be able to learn about all the basic structural units of the hotels and will be engaged in the daily activities. The students will get international competencies for the future successful employment in the tourism market. The opportunity of the international internship is a result of the formal Memorandum of Understanding signed between BSU and German Baltic College Schwerin. The project of the internship was financially supported by the City Hall of Batumi and the Department of Sport and Youth Affairs, Adjara AR.
H.E. Martina Quick, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Sweden to Georgia and Armenia and Professor Staffan Laestadius, Royal Institute of Technology, a senior advisor at Global Utmaning visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University during the days dedicated to the environment protection.
H.E. Martina Quick and Professor Emeritus Staffan Laestadius held a public lecture on ‘Climate Change Transitions, Changes, Experience and Potential for the Growing Economy’. Nino Chkhobadze, Head of the Georgian Green Movement, and Khatuna Chikviladze, Head of the Nature Explorers’ Union presented a project – ‘Let’s Clean Georgia’. The lecture continued in a question-and-answer format, the guests answered many questions of the students.
Professor Eva Sadovska, Bialystok Technical University, Poland, delivered the public lecture at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University on 6-8 June. The event was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The lecture gave an in-depth overview to the job market in the European Union, problems of the professional inertness and the employment policy of the EU.
