BSU has been already a member of the Francophone University Agency for several months that envisages implementation of the joint projects. In the context of the event Muhamed Ketata, Regional Director of the Eastern and Central Europe of the Francophone University Agency, Tamar Garibashvili, Francophone University Agency Head in Georgia and Melody Shomen, teacher invited with the support of the Francophone University Agency visited BSU. Representatives of the Agency discussed the issues of future cooperation and defined the priorities at the meeting with the Deputies of the University Rector Tamar Siradze and Natia Tsiklashvili, the University professors, teaching staff and the students.

14 students of BSU will leave for the mobility in the leading universities of Europe in the frame of the ERASMUS+exchange programme. The students from various faculties will cover the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year in the universities in France, Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Spain, Germany and Poland. Moreover, 6 students will continue their studies in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the frame of the memorandums concluded between BSU and the Universities.

In order to obtain the scholarship of the European Commission the students had to go through concurs based on 3 stages: exam in foreign language, evaluation and confirmation of the originality of the application and the relevant documents and the interview.

In the frame of the exchange programme Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will be hosting 12 international students.

In the frame of the official visit Mr. Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and Prof. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University met Prof. Tiit Land, Rector of the Tallinn University, Prof. Hendrick Voltan, Vice-rector of the University of Technology of Tallinn-TalTech- and the representatives of MEKTORY -the Centre of Innovations and Business.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is ranked as the third University among Georgian higher education institutions, in according to the data of distribution of the financed ERASMUS+MUNDUS exchange programmes and projects during 2015-2018. According to the statistics of the National ERASMUS+Office Georgia BSU implemented the exchange programmes for the students, professors/teaching and the administrative staff in the frame of 45 Partnership Agreement in the above given period. The University also got involved in 9 projects of the development of the higher education institutions and holds Juan Monet Summer School every year.

International Conference “Exchange of Knowledge in the Academic Cultures in Europe and Black Sea Courtiers and between them through Migration (the period before I World War)” was held in Skopje, Macedonia in the frame of the EU programme Horizon 2020- “KEAC-BSR Exchange of Knowledge and the Academic Cultures in the Humanities: Europe and the Black Sea Basin, XVIII-XXIcc”. Prof. Tamar Siradze, BSU Deputy Rector, Prof. of BSU Marine Aroshidze, Associate professors Nino Aroshidze, Tamaz Putkaradze, Manuchar Loria and PhD student Ketevan Putkaradze participated in the mentioned one week event the aim of which was to discuss actual topics such as: the Balkans and Caucasus at the crossings of migration and the exchange of knowledge, exiled academic elite in the fight for the development of the national educational institutions, academic migration and scientific achievements.
