American media experts, Arizona State University professors - Bill Silcock, Ken Foskett and US Embassy grant and higher education program coordinator Sofia Bzishvili met with the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi. At the meeting, the guests and BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi spoke about the cultural-educational relations between Georgia and the USA and directions of future cooperation. The parties also summarized the grant projects implemented in BSU with the support of the United States of America and the US Embassy in Georgia.

Within the framework of the "NATO-Georgia Youth Academy" project, a cycle of two-day lectures in the format of the NATO-Georgia Youth Academy began at BSU. Mark Clayton, the British Ambassador to Georgia, Silviu Damien, the Deputy Ambassador of Romania, and Gvantsa Loladze, the Policy Officer of the NATO Liaison Office, will give lectures to the students of various educational programs on NATO`s strategic goals, the Alliance`s transformation, security and cooperation. The project is implemented by the Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) with the help of the British Embassy, the aim of which is to raise the awareness of young people about NATO and the NATO-Georgia partnership in the regions of Georgia.

British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton and Deputy Ambassador of Romania Silviu Damien visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the introductory meeting, BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi talked to the representatives of the diplomatic corps about the fruitful cultural-educational relations between Georgia, Britain and Romania and directions of future cooperation. The parties discussed the importance of developing exchange programs and joint scientific-educational projects.

As part of the International Day of Science at BSU, the first Georgian translation of Vincent Filak`s textbook "Convergent Journalism" and the student magazine "MediaLaboratory" were presented. The latest textbook of journalism "Convergent Journalism: Introduction (Writing and Producing in the Media)" was published by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University within the framework of the "Digital Media and Innovations" Master`s Program. Each chapter of this innovative guide to practical journalism for the 21st century is written by an expert in the relevant field and covers the practical and key skills of different aspects of modern journalism.

In the BSU vocational program management and continuous education center, the graduation ceremony of the short-term vocational program of integrated plant protection of Shota Rustaveli University of Batumi and the handing over of certificates was held. In the first stream of the three-month program, 14 students were trained, who received theoretical and practical training on all diseases and pests common in specific agricultural crops in the region, their management and prevention. The program is intended for persons involved in the field, practicing specialists and farmers.
