US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan met the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi and the students. The American ambassador welcomed the young people and emphasized the long-term and fruitful cooperation with Georgia. The ambassador spoke about the educational and scientific projects implemented and ongoing at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. With the support of the USA, programs in jurisprudence, basic education, civic education, technology, English language study, agriculture and other directions are implemented in BSU.

Fabio Shetti, a researcher at Paul Valery University Montpellier III, gave a public lecture at BSU within the framework of "Erasmus+" on the topic: "Lexicography of endangered languages and sociolinguistics of migrations". The researcher presented a collection of linguistics studies (a brief analysis of minority and endangered languages) published in Rome as part of a scientific project. The work of BSU assistant professors Shota Rodinadze, Natia Abashidze and a doctoral student Nino Turmanidze was also included in the collection. After the lecture, Fabio Shetti held a meeting with the groups interested in the mentioned problem, where the prospects of future cooperation were jointly planned.

Within the framework of Francophonie Days, a student conference "French culture and civilization" was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the conference, francophone students of the university made presentations about French culture and civilization. During the session, a BSU graduate, translator Sofia Barshova introduced her translations to the participants of the event and spoke about the translation of modern French works of art. The conference was attended by professors, students and pupils of the Georgian-American school.

On March 27-29, within the framework of the "Erasmus+" project - "Strengthening the quality and relevance of the third mission in Georgian universities" (SQUARE), BSU Deputy Rector Tamar Siradze and Head of Public Relations Service Nino Dolidze paid a working visit to Brussels. The visit was organized by EFMD in Belgium. The Objectives of the visit were to get a clear picture of the EU policy in terms of 3M and the potentials for alignment; exchange best practices with the European counterparts and discuss potential collaborations.

Rector of Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, Professor Merab Khalvashi, and President of the Institute of European Regions (IRE), Professor Franz Schausberger signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement envisages the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects and exchange programs. Within the framework of the memorandum, joint scientific conferences, summer schools, seminars and trainings will be held.
