An archaeological workshop was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University within the framework of the European Union project "Eurodialogue", organized by the Eurasian Department of the German Institute of Archeology and the Goethe Institute. The archeological workshop aimed to present Early Bronze Age monuments and discuss the possibilities of creating a public register for them. German, Moldovan, Azerbaijani and Armenian scientists participated in the project together with Georgian scientists.

On May 8, under the organization of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations of BSU, Europe Week continued at BSU with the event "My European University". The meeting was attended, on the one hand, by the students who won the competition of the exchange program financed by the “Erasmus”+and the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture of the A.R. of Ajara. The students will continue their studies in the fall semester, in the Poland (Bialystok, Wroclaw), France (Aix-en-Provence), Spain (Murcia, Córdoba), Bulgaria (Rousse), Croatia (Osiek) universities.

The BSU Foreign students of the educational program of Medical Doctor instructed in English organized a flashmob in the yard of the university in connection with the AGNI FEST. AGNI FEST means the festival of fire in Indian culture and is a symbol of purity. The purpose of the festival is to unite students and establish friendships. The opening ceremony of the festival was held today. During the next days, various events will be held in the university with the participation of students, including competitions in sports and art.AGNI FEST was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University for the first time in 2019. For Indian students, the festival is an important platform to showcase and share their culture, traditions, talents.

US Ambassador Kelly Degnan, Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi, the Minister of Agriculture of the Autoonomous Republic of Ajara Zaza Shavadze and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports Maia Khajishvili opened an agricultural extension center on the basis of the vocational program management and continuous education center of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The purpose of the establishment of the center is to support the agricultural sectors, to strengthen the role and participation of the university in providing agricultural extension to the society through the development and implementation of researches carried out on the bases of BSU academic staff and research centers into various extension programs.

The third international meeting of the European Union Erasmus+ project DITECH (Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning in Georgian Universities) was held from April 19-21, 2023 in Cork, Ireland. The meeting was organized and hosted by Cork University College and was attended by universities from Georgia and various European countries. The participating universities included Tallinn University, the project coordinator; Kaunas University of Technology; Cork University College; Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the national coordinator in Georgia; Ilia State University; Samtskhe-Javakheti State University; Sukhumi State University; Jacob Gogebashvili Telavi State University; Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University; Akaki Tsereteli State University; and the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers.
