On November 1-6, the students of the bachelor and master programs of the Faculty of Tourism of BSU took part in the "International Hotel Management" internship program held in Berlin.The targeted program planned for the students of the Faculty of Tourism included informational meetings and visits to conceptual hotels (25hours, Henri, Scandic), within the framework of which the hotel representatives introduced the students to the modern standards, trends and challenges of the hospitality industry.The program also included presentations, discussions and familiarization with career development opportunities with the design and events agency "Nok Akt", one of the fastest growing hotel operating companies "HR-Group" and the company that owns hotel complexes "SeetelHotels".

Director of the Center for Commercialization of Scientific Activities of the University of Virginia, University Vice President Richard Nadar conducted a four-day training at BSU. The training covered such topical issues as: research strategic planning framework document, transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary research, research impact, research portfolio creation (individual and institutional perspectives). Professor Richard Nadar shared with the listeners the experience of American international scientific centers and funding sources, talked about the elements of partnership, priority areas of research and commercialization.

Austrian Ambassador to Georgia Thomas Miulman met the BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi. At the meeting, the Rector presented the educational programs to the representative of the diplomatic corps and spoke about the existing cooperation between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Austrian universities and the current joint exchange programs. It was planned to expand future cooperation and implement joint projects.Within the framework of the visit, the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia Thomas Miulman met the students, professors and teachers and pupils of the school. The diplomat spoke about Pako Svimonishvili, who translated the poems of Austrian poet Rose Auslander. There was a screening of the film about Rose Auslander`s works and his Georgian translations.

On October 28, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on cooperation between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The memorandum was signed by Deputy Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Tamar Siradze and Deputy Rector of Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences Istvan Szabo.Within the framework of the memorandum, it is planned to prepare joint educational programs between the two universities, mutual exchange of students and staff, and strengthening of the scientific-research field.

The editorial board of the leading international scientific publishing house - ELSEVIER, within the Open Access Week 2022, presented a certificate to Izolda Machutadze, a lifelong scientist of the Institute of Phytopathology and Biodiversity of BSU, for her contribution to open science. The scientist`s success in terms of publications in open access Elsevier journals in 2019-2021 is special, the scientific publication: "Mapping Asia plants: Current status on floristic information in Southwest Asia" received a great response. The scientific article addresses the world`s greatest challenge, the UN Sustainable Development Goals. About 3,000 researchers from different countries of the world are interested in the scientific work of the scientist Izolda Machutadze. Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University congratulates the scientist Izolda Machutadze on the most important victory and wishes her success.
