On February 25-27 the international kick-off meeting in the frame of the project „DITECH - Developing and Implementing Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs” was held on the zoom platform. The meeting was opened and the participants were welcomed by Prof. Andres Jõesaar, Vice-Rector of Tallinn University who spoke about the importance and role of the electronic teaching in the era of digital technologies, in particular, under the current pandemic circumstances.
In relation to the International Plagiarism Prevention Day the webinar “Let’s Fight Plagiarism Together!” was held for the students and the professors of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Besides talks about raising awareness in connection with plagiarism, the webinar participants discussed the mechanisms for fighting against it, the regulations elaborated by the BSU and necessity of modification of the study course of Academic Writing. The students as well as the professors and the teachers took part in the quiz arranged in the frame of the webinar. The students expressed their opinion and highlighted the importance and necessity of application of the Turnitin programme. BSU been utilizing the given programme since 2018, in the frame of the “Erasmus+”project (INTEGRITY) “Academic Integrity for Quality Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia”.
In the frame of the ERASMUS+ grant project Learning Optimization and Academic Inclusion Via Equitative Distance Teaching and Learning - Love Distance, the working group meeting of the management took place. The participants of the meeting discussed the details of the project progress and planned the next stages of the project implementation. The project objective is to ensure elaboration and establishment of such programmes/courses/learning materials in Israel and Georgia that will encourage the students’ integration in the educational system through distance teaching/learning.
