The students’ scientific conference-2021 has been opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. More than 180 students from various faculties will be presenting reports in nineteen directions. The objective of the conference is to encourage the youths’ involvement in the scientific activities, gaining and development of the skills and abilities of working on research. The young researchers’ work will be evaluated by the university professors and teachers, while the authors of the reports winning the prize for the best research in direction will be provided a cash reward. The collection which will be published in the frame of the conference will include three best scientific papers in each direction.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia Imamura Akira visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the introductory meeting with BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, the representative of the diplomatic corps spoke about the friendly relations between Georgia and Japan and the directions of future cooperation. By agreement of the parties, it was planned to deepen cooperation with Japanese higher education institutions, involve students in exchange programs and educational projects, and promote the study of the Japanese language.

UNICEF representative in Georgia Ghasan Khalili and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Maia Khajishvili visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. In October 2021, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will host an international conference dedicated to the inclusion of children’s rights in university educational programs and curricula. During the meeting with the Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi, the parties discusses the organizational issues of the international conference dedicated to the inclusion of children’s rights in university educational programs and curricula and the details of the establishment of the Scientific Council.

Viktoria Horvath, the Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia and Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences had a meeting with Merab Khalvashi, the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The sides talked about the exchange programmes for the students and professors in the fields of Agrarian Studies, Tourism and Economics; implementation of teaching-scientific projects, putting scholarships into operation and conducting joint public lectures. It was also planned to conclude a memorandum of cooperation between the educational institutions.

In the frame of the Europe Day 2021, in the online format, Desislava Ivanova, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Georgia, met the students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The online meeting, attended by Approximately 100 students, was moderated by Tamara Tsuleiskiri, Director of the Information Centre of NATO and EU who spoke about the activities of the Information Centre and the process of the Europe Days.
