Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Merab Khalvashi and Caucasus Program Director of German NGO Berghof Foundation Dr. Oliver Wolleh signed a memorandum of understanding. The purpose of the Memorandum is to work together to enhance students` knowledge, critical thinking and engagement in ethno-political conflicts in Georgia; to provide them with a relevant learning and discussion space that will facilitate them in learning and developing their knowledge and skills in these areas; to promote development of courses following the educational programs and elaboration of new curricula.

Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Merab Khalvashi met with Dirk Verbeke, Sales Director Television Education, and Noel Muylle Honorary Director-General of Synchronous Translation of the European Commission. EU Innovative Communication Technologies Production Company "Televic Education" is collaborating with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University to develop synchronous translation infrastructure and software. The infrastructure project has already been successfully implemented at BSU with the support of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

On January 27-28, the delegation of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, comprising Deputy Rector Prof. Tamar Siradze, Deputy Rector Prof. Natela Tsiklashvili and Associate Professor Inga Shamilishvili, visited the Wroclaw State University of Lower Silesia, Poland. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with Wroclaw State University. The BSU delegation also met with representatives of the Department of Journalism, Foreign Philology and Economics of the University of Wroclaw and outlined plans for the future relationship.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is hosting the third international meeting of the Erasmus + CBHE Project „Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia ". The objective of the project is to develop the quality of teaching and learning in higher education institutions of Georgia following the principles of academic integrity. The program aims at developing policies and mechanisms to facilitate the detection, prevention, and eradication of plagiarism.

On January 15, 2020, the ERASMUS + CBHE three-year grant project "Learning Optimization and Academic Inclusion Via Equitative Distance Teaching and Learning - Love Distance" has been launched at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The project envisages access and quality improvement of higher education for students with disabilities, disadvantaged conditions and those from ethnic minorities, and peripheral areas in Israel and Georgia. The project coordinating institution is Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), in which Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is involved with another HEIs of Georgia- Ilia State University and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.
