Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University welcomed Professor Zaal Kokaia, a Georgian scientist based in Sweden, Founding PI of the Lund Stem Cell Center, Professor of Experimental Medical Research at Lund University, and Head of the Laboratory of Stem Cells and Restorative Neurology.

Professor Kokaia delivered a public lecture for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of the Medicine and Biology programs within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care. During his visit, he also met with students of the One-Cycle educational program (English) - Medical Doctor and members of the academic staff.

The lecture focused on neural stem cells, their regenerative potential, and the mechanisms underlying brain function. Professor Kokaia discussed the prospects of stem cell-based therapies for restoring functional impairments caused by stroke and highlighted recent advances in regenerative neurology and experimental medicine.

The event concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, providing participants with the opportunity to discuss current developments and future perspectives in stem cell research and neurological regeneration.
