Within the framework of a fact-finding mission supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), on June 27, 2025, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare was visited by Olaf Horstik, Director of the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health, along with academic coordinators. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for future academic collaboration and identify potential areas for joint teaching and research in the field of global health.

Within the framework of the "Mobile Chemistry Laboratory" project, which won Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University`s 2025 student project competition, first- and second-year undergraduate students and first-year Master`s program students in chemistry, together with professors and instructors from the chemistry department, visited the Public School in Khulo municipality.
Various interactive activities designed for students were conducted at the school. First-year Master`s program student in chemistry, Salome Gogitidze, introduced the students to the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programs in chemistry, and spoke about events organized by the university in this field.
Second-year chemistry student Kakha Kotrikadze presented to the students about research conducted by students at the Western Georgia Regional Chromatographic Center. The event continued with fun and educational chemistry experiments, in which students participated with great interest and joy. The event concluded with an entertaining quiz for the students.

Students and professors from the Ecology and Biology programs of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare celebrated World Environment Day. At the visitor center of Kobuleti Protected Areas, administration representatives introduced students to the main characteristics of biodiversity in Kobuleti protected territories, and then the field expedition continued to Ispani II peat bog.
In their natural habitat, students observed unique species, specifically sphagnum moss carpets, royal fern, carnivorous sundew (Drosera), yellow iris, yellow rhododendron, yew, Pontic oak, sundews, and others. The meeting and eco-tour were very interesting and educational.

With the support of the Ministry of Sports of Georgia and the Ministry of Education and Sports of Ajara, and in partnership with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Batumi is hosting the second international conference on the topic: "Sports Medicine - For Athletes` Health and Achievements".
The conference includes participation from students, academic staff and graduates of the undergraduate program in Physical Medicine and Medical Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
BSU Rector Tite Aroshidze participated in the opening of the international forum and spoke about the importance of sports medicine.
The two-day conference aims to promote connections between professionals working in various disciplines - sports physicians, physiotherapists, trainers, and researchers. It also seeks to establish new clinical and educational standards for the region.
Through the format of plenary presentations, practical sessions and workshops, more than 30 BSU students have the opportunity to gain experience from high-level experts.
Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of innovative technologies and medical equipment was organized, where BSU is represented with multifunctional training mannequins. Participants have the opportunity to receive detailed information about BSU`s educational programs and resources.

Students and professors from the Ecology and Biology programs of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Healthcare celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity. Associate Professor Inga Diasamidze presented a report on "Biodiversity Conventions and Conservation Strategies," while Associate Professor Natela Varshanidze spoke about "The Current Status of Red List Species in Ajara." The event was also attended by staff members from Machakhela National Park.
Marad Iakobadze, Senior Specialist of Resources at Machakhela National Park, introduced students to "Biodiversity of Machakhela National Park," demonstrated the tools necessary for biodiversity monitoring (camera traps, GPS navigator, binoculars), and practically explained how observation/monitoring is conducted. Visitor Services Specialist Dina Makharadze presented the ecotourism opportunities and routes of Machakhela National Park to the young people.
The meeting was conducted in a question-and-answer format and served to raise awareness about biodiversity.
