On June 16, an open lecture entitled “Surgical Management of Crohn’s Disease” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University for medical students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care. The lecture was delivered by Professor Stefan Fichtner-Feigl, Head of the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Freiburg University Medical Center and Honorary Doctor of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

During the lecture, Professor Fichtner-Feigl presented contemporary principles of the surgical management of Crohn's Disease, including indications for surgical intervention, diagnostic approaches, the importance of multidisciplinary patient care, and the latest strategies implemented in international clinical practice.

The event concluded with an engaging discussion session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights into the practical experience of managing Crohn’s disease at Freiburg University Medical Center. The lecture represented an important educational opportunity for students, enabling them to become acquainted with international expertise and current developments in modern surgical approaches to Crohn’s disease.
