A meeting with representatives of UNICEF was held at the Child Rights Centre of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

During the visit, Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Representative in Georgia, and Professor Merab Khalvashi, Rector of BSU, reviewed the Centre's achievements since its establishment and discussed its strategic priorities and future development. The programme also included a discussion on the Centre's long-term sustainability and institutional development.

Established in 2021, the BSU Child Rights Centre serves as a hub for education, professional development, and public engagement in the field of child rights. The Centre develops educational resources and regularly organises training programmes, public lectures, seminars, and discussions aimed at promoting a rights-based approach to education and raising awareness of children's rights.

Through its activities, the Centre supports university faculty, school teachers, researchers, representatives of civil society organisations, parents, and children across the Adjara region, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and the strengthening of professional capacity in the field of child rights.

The Child Rights Centre was established with the support of the Government of Norway. By fostering collaboration between academia, education professionals, and the wider community, the Centre plays an important role in enhancing understanding of children's rights and promoting their effective implementation in educational and social settings.
