Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the Second International Conference on Integrating Child Rights into Higher Education Programmes and Curricula, organised by UNICEF in partnership with the University and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.

The two-day conference brought together academics, students, policymakers, representatives of international and civil society organisations, UN agencies, and schools to discuss the integration of child rights into higher education and to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation.

The programme featured 42 presentations delivered by 52 national and international speakers, addressing topics including child rights education, social policy, access to quality education, digital inclusion, and the role of universities in promoting children's rights.

The conference also included panel discussions, student essay and school project competitions, thematic webinars, and a youth digital advocacy workshop aimed at promoting equal access to quality education and reducing digital inequalities for children in mountainous regions of Adjara.

The event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, academic collaboration, and the advancement of child rights education at both the national and international levels.
