UNICEF Grant Project Closing Event Held at Batumi State University

A closing event of the UNICEF-funded grant project “Strengthening University Capacity to Support Inclusive Preschool and General Education” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

The project results were presented and summarized by the project coordinator, Professor Lela Turmanidze, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, together with Associate Professors Nana Mamuladze and Nato Sherozia. Professor Lela Tavdgiridze and Lali Japaridze presented the activities, implemented projects, and future development plans of the Children’s Rights Knowledge Centres at Batumi State University and Makhinjauri Public School.

During the event, Assistant Professors Nino Samnidze and Diana Akhvlediani presented the Georgian translation of the book “Using Innovative Methods in Early Childhood Education Research: Beyond the Traditional Approach.”

At the closing ceremony, participating teachers were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the project activities and training programmes.

The event was attended by university professors and academic staff, students, representatives of UNICEF Georgia, officials from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, employees of the Adjara Preschool Education Association, and beneficiaries of the UNICEF project, including preschool educators and teachers from general education schools.
