Participants of the 2024 meeting of the Network of Children’s Rights Centres of Georgian Universities, together with child rights advocates, signed the Declaration on the Establishment of the Academic Network for Children’s Rights.
The newly established academic network aims to create a supportive environment for academic inquiry, research, and advocacy focused on strengthening the realization of children’s rights. Members will use the network as a platform for exchanging ideas, practices, perspectives, experiences, and resources in the fields of children’s rights promotion and protection.
The network will also facilitate cooperation with academic networks in other countries, enabling the exchange of knowledge, research findings, advocacy principles, and practical approaches related to children’s rights.
In addition, members of the network will maintain close cooperation with UNICEF Georgia, recognized as a global leader among United Nations agencies in advancing and protecting children’s rights. Through this partnership, the network seeks to further strengthen academic collaboration, evidence-based research, and advocacy initiatives aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of children’s rights.
