Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the presentation of the USAID program “Promotion of Rule of Law” at National and Local Levels. The event was opened by USAID Mission Director Peter Wiebler, Vice President of the East-West Management Institute Mark Dietrich, BSU Rector, Professor Merab Khalvashi, representatives of courts, local and international organizations. The program aims to strengthen the rule of law by promoting the independence and efficiency of the justice, ensuring better access to justice for all segments of society, and strengthening citizen and institutional supervision of the above institutions.

A delegation of the Bialystok University of Poland visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Members of the delegation, Professors: Oleg Latishonok, Editor Yaroslav Ivanyuk, Machey Krotofil, Dorota Mikhaluk, Evgenyush Mironovich, Tomas Blaszczak, Malgozzata Viezhkovska met the students and professors of BSU. The guests were welcomed by the Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi, and spoke about the long-term cooperation between the two countries and future prospects.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University once again expresses solidarity with Ukraine and holds a charity event to help the Ukrainian people. BSU students, professors, researchers and administration representatives collected hygiene and child care items, food, linens, clothing. Primary items were purchased with the money collected within the campaign.
The charity event started on March 2 at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and will continue in the future.

At the BSU Child Rights Knowledge Center, a training was held for students and pupils of different schools in Batumi on the topic: "Media and Children`s Rights". Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Merab Khalvashi and Ghasan Khalili, UNICEF Representative in Georgia and a honorary Doctor of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University greeted the participants of the event and handed over commemorative gifts along with certificates. The training was led by Aslan Chanidze, Chairman of the House of Free Journalists, and Manana Kveliashvili, Journalist of the Batumelebi newspaper.

On March 3-17, a consortium meeting of the institutional development “Erasmus+” project "Optimization of teaching and academic inclusion using distance Learning and Teaching" (LoveDistance), was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting was hosted by all three partner organizations of the project – Levinsky College of Education, Ono Academic College and Tel Aviv University. The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the activities implemented in the frame of the project as well as discuss the current processes in terms of both content and management. From the BSU, the meeting was attended by the staff involved in the project-Nana Makaradze, Irakli Kordzaia, Amiran Sharadze and Nino Mikeladze.
