At the BSU Child Rights Knowledge Center, a training was held for students and pupils of different schools in Batumi on the topic: "Media and Children`s Rights". Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Merab Khalvashi and Ghasan Khalili, UNICEF Representative in Georgia and a honorary Doctor of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University greeted the participants of the event and handed over commemorative gifts along with certificates. The training was led by Aslan Chanidze, Chairman of the House of Free Journalists, and Manana Kveliashvili, Journalist of the Batumelebi newspaper.

On March 3-17, a consortium meeting of the institutional development “Erasmus+” project "Optimization of teaching and academic inclusion using distance Learning and Teaching" (LoveDistance), was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting was hosted by all three partner organizations of the project – Levinsky College of Education, Ono Academic College and Tel Aviv University. The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the activities implemented in the frame of the project as well as discuss the current processes in terms of both content and management. From the BSU, the meeting was attended by the staff involved in the project-Nana Makaradze, Irakli Kordzaia, Amiran Sharadze and Nino Mikeladze.

On March 14-16, participants of the Erasmus + RURD program from BSU attended workshops at the University of Vytauta Magnus (Kaunas, Lithuania). Project Coordinator at BSU, Associate Professor Khatuna Beridze, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Marina Giorgadze and Researcher in the project Levan Tarieladze got acquainted with the issues related to the implementation and management of the project. Implemented and future activities of the Rectors` Conference- University-Municipality Cooperation, Cultural Heritage, Sports’ International Cooperation, Tourism, Enterprise Practice Center "MINDED VDU", Multi-Functional Science and Research Center, Academic Recognition, Graduates’ Program, Institute of Innovative Research topical Issues were discussed at the meetings.

The meeting to support Ukraine, organized by the Jean Monnet Department, was held at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The event was attended by the students of the Jean Monnet Department, Levan Jakeli, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, and Malkhaz Nakashidze, Head of the Jean Monnet Department. The participants of the meeting expressed their strong support for the Ukrainian people, students, academic staff and protested against the aggression and occupation of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University once again expresses its full solidarity with Ukraine and launches a charity event to help the Ukrainian people. The event envisages medicines and other necessary items (dry sweets-Churchkhela, dried fruit); hygienic and child care items, linen, clothes, etc. supplies. Moreover, donation of money to purchase the mentioned required products is considered.
