Study Visit to the Catholic University of Leuven

On May 3-5, a study visit was held at the Technology Campus of the Catholic University of Leuven in Ghent, Belgium, within the framework of the Erasmus +project “Boosting the Role of HEIs in the Industrial Transformation towards  the Industry Paradigm 4.0 in Georgia and Ukraine.”  The project was attended by the project manager and researcher from Batumi University, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, Professor Lela Turmanidze, Head of Quality Assurance Service, Professor Vladimer Glonti and researcher, Associate Professor Nana Mazmishvili.

The visit was intended to share the experience of European universities for the development of Paradigm 4.0 concept.  At the meeting the successful practices of the universities of France, Belgium and Germany in the educational programs Industry 4.0 concept integration, the role of universities in industry development and successful projects of partner universities, were presented.

During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Volvo car factory, attend a seminar organized by the factory representatives on successful management and team management issues.

The project coordinator is the Catholic University of Leuven. From Georgia, the project involves Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, University of Business and Technology and Georgian Innovation and Technology Association (GITA).
