The Child Rights Centre of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted a training session entitled “We Have Rights” for university students and school pupils.
The participants were welcomed by Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Representative in Georgia and Honorary Doctor of BSU, together with Anzor Beridze, Vice Rector of BSU, and Nika Chkhartishvili, Head of the University Administration. The speakers highlighted the importance of the Child Rights Centre and presented certificates to the participants.

Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Representative in Georgia, and Professor Lela Turmanidze, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, officially opened an Inclusive Education and Children’s Rights Training Centre at Makhinjauri Public School.

Within the framework of the UNICEF-supported project “Strengthening University Capacities to Support Inclusive Preschool and General Education,” and in cooperation with the preschool education associations of Khelvachauri Municipality and Batumi City, a total of 76 preschool educators, special education teachers, and managers were selected to participate in training courses on inclusive early childhood education.

A working meeting of the Children’s Rights Knowledge Centre of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was held at the University with the aim of presenting the projects and activities implemented throughout the 2021–2022 academic year.
The event included presentations of the Centre’s training modules, the academic textbook acquired for the Centre, translated and original articles reflecting the Centre’s activities, informational brochures, materials documenting the exhibition of children’s drawings and photographs, as well as the Centre’s official website, logo, and Brand Book.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the First International Conference on “Early Childhood Education and Care.” The conference aimed to foster academic dialogue on the quality, accessibility, and inclusiveness of early childhood education and care while promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices informed by both national and international experience.
