BSU Student Wins European Championship in Shotokan Karate

Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi honoured BSU student Besik Chkhikvadze, European Champion in Shotokan Karate, awarding BSU certificate for the great achievements in the name of the home university. BSU fully covered annual tuition fee to the Faculty of Technolgy where the champion is enrolled. 
 The European Championship started out in Batumi, where 1400 competitors from total 35 countries contended the title of the champion. In the final battle, Besik Chkhikvadze defeated Kazakh, Turkish and Azeri contenders, winning the Champion of Europe’s title. The next  scheduled tournament in which Besik Chkhikvadze participates will take place in the city of Poti, where the National Team membership will be contended. 
There is an Olympic Karate team currently training at BSU. Adjaria Karate Federation rendered Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University a gold medal and a diploma for the support and development of Karate, recently included on Olympic programme.
