European Days at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University


Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University celebrated European Days with several events. The Students of the Social and Political Studies held a Flashmob imitating the visa free border crossing. Assistant Professor Lasha Bazhunaishvili and Gela Iremadze delivered public lectures on the topic European Unification Idea and Contemporary Challenges of European Union.

The Faculty of Humanities, including the departments of the Slavic Studies, Georgian Philology,  English, French and German Philologies, arranged information corners about Europe. The other European information corners were represented by the BSU Department of Strategic Development and International Relations, the NATO and the EU Information Center and the Center for International Education's Office of Batumi. The verse reading performance "We read Shakespeare" invited both students and professors to read sonnets by Shakespeare in European Languages.
