BSU Holds Book Presentation - Letters from Istanbul’s Georgian Cloister


Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the book presentation – “Letters from the Istanbul’s Georgian Cloister” - a research by the group of scholars at Niko Berdzenishvili Institute, BSU. The research project “Epistolary and Memoir Heritage of the Istanbul’s Georgian Cloister” was sponsored by the Shota Rustaveli National Foundation; Since then, the scholars were compiling the volume during 2013-2016. It  includes unique materials from the archives and the library at the Church cum Monastery in Istanbul, which belongs to the Georgian Catholics. The volume consists of the essays, private correspondence, memoirs, documents reflecting the Georgian National Government officers work in emigration, various historical sources of different content, for sundry of purposes,  The volume includes annexed papers, and copies of the archival documents; The Book is intended for the experts, scholars, students of the Turkey-Georgian relations, cultural encounters, literary studies, ethnography, linguistics, history as well as for the wider audience interested in the Georgia-Turkey relations.
