The new campus of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is already the host of the Technopark opened by Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of Ajara AR Government together with Maia Khajishvili, the Minister of Education of AR of Ajara, Merab Khalvashi, the BSU Rector and Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of the Agency of Innovations and Technologies of Georgia. The Technopark will provide the young people from the region with the opportunity to turn their innovative ideas into the real business and develop their startup ideas, with the support from the state. The Technopark creates the space where the technological, educational and professional resources are accumulated with the objective to encourage the development of the competence-based economy in Georgia.
